If there is one topic that is high on the world's agenda for discussion, it has got to be equality. In fact, over the last 250 years the idea of equality and equal rights has had a vast effect on the development of western society. What we need to see today is that God is also concerned about equality. We see that demonstrated here in Act...

God wants his people to adress the injustices around them. Easy to say, but what do we do? Where do we start? The issue seems so huge, and we seem so powerless - what can we do? In this next chapter in the Time for Justice series we look at how doing this work might impact on our walk with Jesus. Find out here what we're starting to do.
It seems you don't have to talk about Christianity for too long before someone says, 'One of the issues I have with God is that there is so much evil in the world: Why isn't he doing something about it?' Does God have a plan to address injustice? If so, what is that plan? The answer the Bible gives may well challenge and surprise you. Read about it here.

Those who suffer injustice in our world are not beyond the bounds of our Lord's vision. He cares a great deal about them. The question we need to ask whether the things that matter to God matter to us... Read more here
We often see injustice as something that happens in other parts of the world, and to people very different to us. More often than not, we see these as contexts in which we do not have any real influence. Scripture presents another picture: all injustice is sin, and allowing it to exist impacts on how a watching world sees the character of God Read the first instalment of Time for Justice here Home Group Study questions for this sermon are avaiable here Coments may be left on the blog

So, I was in the middle of one of those irritating jobs where you have to back and forth to get something sorted, and my phone rang. I noticed the number was someone local, but no one in my contact list. Just for a moment I thought ‘send it to message bank…’ Pushing that voice aside, I swiped the call open, “Hi, it’s Dave…” It turned out to be a woman from one of the Perth CRC congregations, who wanted to let me know how much she appreciated Catalyst. “I don’t have a computer, but I get my copy from the...

November 19, 2013 Leave a comment On 8 September Hope Community Church Baldivis, held its first weekly service in the newly built Baldivis Secondary College (BSC). We praise God for his provision through this school community. With very little public infrastructure in the Baldivis area, meeting space is difficult to come by. So we are delighted to use this new facility. We are currently meeting in the Media Centre Music Room (access via school carpark on Pleasantview Parade, Baldivis) and are blessed to have access to some musical equipment, and an additional large room for running crèche and Sunday School. Pastor...
October 29, 2013 4 Comments Hi everyone, I read an excellent article in the Sydney Morning Herald today about personal internet security (see link below). We all have passwords for various things on the internet (email, websites, Facebook, etc.), that much we know. What we might not realise that many people use the same password for just about everything. That way, it’s easy to remember. It’s also makes it a lot easier for someone to hack into your accounts. If this happens, it may well be more than embarrassing: you could lose a lot of money, your identity could be stolen,...
