profession of faith

God’s grace in our lives

Submitted by John Zuidema on September 24, 2009 - 11:00am

Today as part of the Christian church we have the privilege of witnessing Sr Brenda Lawson’s public profession of faith and then following that, the baptism of Peter and Brenda’s children, Tia and Samantha.  Both the Profession of faith and the baptisms are signs of God’s grace working in the lives of his people.

The more time I spend in ministry, the more it is brought home to me that the work of conversion and bringing someone to profess their faith publicly in Jesus Christ is God’s work through his Word and Spirit.  And sometimes it is good for us to be reminded because in today’s church we could be forgiven for thinking that providing we have the right programs, the right music, or the right style of worship, people will come to faith.
